The only way to reach Alola is by the sea. Most of the passengers on the ship are exhausted from the previous leg of their journey, a nine hour flight from Kanto, taking advantage of the fact that they get rooms with beds to stretch out in for the rest of the trip.

Red is restless. Pikachu, tucked into his backpack and napping there, doesn't wake as he steps out onto the deck to a face full of sea breeze and the sight of the blue sea stretching out in every direction around them. The island with the airport is already behind them, dropping past the horizon. There are flocks of wingulls overhead, casting their shadows on the deck as they pass. Red can hear the cry of a lapras, even if he can't see it.

Pulling his cap down over his eyes to shield them from the sun, Red steps up to the railing and leans against it, looking down into the sea. Alola, he's heard, is nothing like any other region he's visited. They're more connected to nature, to Pokémon, and he can't wait to see it for himself. That sort of relationship must no doubt lead to strong trainers and Red is eager to experience that for himself too, to test his own strength against Alola's.

He feels a hand on his lower back, just under his backpack, and turns to find Green beside him wearing his sunglasses and an easy grin. He looks relaxed, in a way that he hasn't for a while since running a gym, taking care of a town and planning a wedding.

Red brings his hand up to cup Green's cheek, watching the sun glint off his wedding band. It's going to come off when they reach Alola, worn on a chain under his shirt instead, just to avoid attention focused on something he'd rather keep to himself. His status as Champion is already going to draw enough attention as it is. Red doesn't mind when it's because of his ability as a trainer. Nobody needs to know that they're here for their honeymoon.

Green huffs out a fond laugh, turning his face and pressing a kiss to Red's palm, then another to his ring. "Let me guess. You're wondering how strong the trainers at Alola will be, and how you're going to fare against them."

Red smiles, shrugging a little. Of course Green would figure it out.

"Luckily for you," Green tells them, also leaning against the railing and pressing their sides against each other, "you happen to be married to a wonderful, intelligent, kind, modest—"

Red snorts quietly.

"—Incredibly organised man who happens to have already looked into the battle culture in Alola. I've put some feelers out and we're welcome to the Battle Tree whenever we feel like. I thought we could go sightseeing first, meet the native Pokémon and get a feel for the place before we head over for battles. What do you say?"

Red kisses the corner of his mouth, smiling. Of course Green already has everything sorted out. If Red is eager to battle, Green must be impatient. Turning to his side, Red kisses Green properly this time.

"Yeah," Green sounds a little dazed as he pulls back. "I thought so."
