Fandoms: sports anime medley, pokemon/pokespe/pkmn go (vastly more familiar with gen 3 than anything else), homestuck, parks n rec, throw me an FFTA or FFCC au, i am familiar with such classics as RGU and NGE and princess tutu, has anyone else seen tegami bachi please god, FE Fates conquest only (i know), BNHA, magi (anime-only), Ask Me About My Homestuck-style Shipping Wall For Suits

arisugawa juri, uraraka ochako, inui hinako, oe kanade, kawakami norifumi, teshima fucking junta
god im so sorry this is getting long so here's a random smattering of ships that are harder to find that caught my eye recently: norisawa (daiya), inui/tezuka (tennis), ryoma/kaidou (tennis), ja'far/ka koubun angry fling (magi (i am sorry)), steven stone/green oak (one fic sucked me in), uraraka/hatsume (bnha), hoenn rival brendan or may talking to green about being descended from a professor and telling him he's cool, juri/&utena, uraraka flipping off bakugou (this is a ship right)

Likes: stars. wrought iron fancy streetlamps. nonromantic relationships prioritized over romantic ones. squirrels. hateships. strong mood lighting. condensed, chewy prose. puns with the word snail. undereye bags. ravenclaw house. that character archetype of the kid who's slightly older than the protagonist and basically just serves as a narrative foil because they're not as magical. economics. navy blue.

Dislikes: insulting one character to praise another, honestly, is the only thing i can think of right now. wait, also, rabbits.

Anything else: here is a link to every exchange letter i have and all my prompts from the sports anime shipping olympics if you want actual, specific prompts for pairings

Reminder that NOTES are welcome too - just a nice little comment (either plain, or you can even type it up on a nice little graphic/image etc.) for the recipient.

(Comments are going to screened until the reveal on Feb 14. Lockers will be open until the end of Feb.)

This is more hinted/pre-ship rather than directly Ryoma/Kaidoh but I hope that you like it anyway! My writing style doesn't really match your preferences, sorry. ^^;;;

The steady thwack of a ball bouncing off the wall led Kaidoh to Ryoma, as sure as a map. The courts at the school were closed, thanks to flooding (Kaidoh wasn’t sure how, but he knew it was Inui’s fault) and the members of the tennis team had taken to playing on the street courts instead.

The lighting wasn’t as good; at school, the lights blazed brightly enough to make it seem like noon at all hours. Here, the street lights cast a more subdued golden glow while overhead, the stars shone steadily down on Ryoma. Every line of his body was picked out in gold, the fine hairs on his arms gleaming and the sweat-slicked strands of hair sheened wetly where they stuck to his neck.

He was breathing fast, shirt swinging loosely around his middle so that air sieved through the fabric and hit his flushed skin. From the high color on his cheeks and the dampness of sweat on his skin, Kaidoh guessed that Ryoma had been practicing for a good five hours.

He glanced at the town hall clock – just past 10PM – and then back at Ryoma. 5 sounded right. It meant he would’ve arrived here as soon as school finished and then kept a court for his own use by ruthlessly beating anyone that challenged him.

Kaidoh approached Ryoma slowly, sneakers soundless against the clay court. Ryoma’s breathing was too fast for Kaidoh to mirror it so he slowed his breaths instead. It was the same way he approached lost animals, slow and steady, waiting for any sign he needed to stop.

“Want a match, Kaidoh-senpai?” Ryoma asked without looking back. It was something Kaidoh had noticed before; on a tennis court, Ryoma was all but omniscient, hyper-aware of every other player and every ball.

Kaidoh’s lips formed a pout, tongue touching his upper teeth as he hissed.

“No,” he said. “I’m supposed to tell you to turn your phone on. We’re having a practice match tomorrow against Fudomine and nobody could reach you to tell you.”

Ryoma caught the ball instead of hitting it, balancing it on the racket’s sweet spot and starting to bounce it on the racket itself.

“Ran out of battery,” he said, then gave the ball a particularly high bounce. His next swing sent it back against the wall, Ryoma returning to a familiar, soothing pattern. If Kaidoh closed his eyes, it almost sounded like his heartbeat.

“No. You turned it off,” Kaidoh’s words were enough to make Ryoma glance back at him. The cap shadowed his eyes, hiding them from sight, but the lamp light gilded the curves of his mouth with gold when he smirked.

“How do you know that?” Starlight spilled down Ryoma’s throat when he swallowed, the next easy backhand of the ball so effortless that envy half-choked Kaidoh for a moment.

“Because I do it too.”

Prodigy or not, Ryoma Echizen was still a teenager.

Steven/Green; 493w; G

We're talking about stones, Green realises about ten minutes into the conversation. He doesn't think that Steven has even stopped for breath once in that time. His eyes are sparkling, his mouth pulled into a grin even as he's talking, and he's talking with great enthusiasm about stones.

It's an oversimplification, Green knows, because it's not just about the stones themselves but the evolutionary potential that they hold. Steven is as interested in collecting and showing off the beauty of his stones as he is in studying the way they work, the way they change the physiology of the pokémon they come into contact with. It's fascinating, Green knows that much, but still. Stones.

It started when Steven realised that Green has an Eevee, and had gone from there. Green, still undecided on what he'll let his Eevee evolve into—if he's going to evolve it at all—had carefully steered the conversation away from that subject, willing to listen to anything else Steven is happy to talk about. As it turns out, Steven is more than happy to talk about plenty of things, all revolving around evolutionary stones. It's a little impressive, Green thinks dazedly; not just the fact that Steven has this much knowledge about them and still thirsts for more, but the fact that he's so clearly fond of hearing himself talk.

He might even beat Green himself, in that regard. Green can't help but respect that.

Steven finally sends him away with an entire case of stones as thanks for listening to him talk. Green marvels at the way they sparkle in the light, thinking of the way Steven waxed poetic about the massive potential locked away in such small items. For use on his Eevee, if Green ever decided, Steven said with an easy smile. And if not Eevee, then he was sure that a trainer of Green's calibre would find other uses for them.

Green finds a display case for them, smaller and nowhere near as flashy as the one that Steven displays his stone collection in, and finds himself glancing at them whenever he passes, until it becomes something of a daily routine. He'll pass the case on his way around the gym, the glint of colour catching his eye, and he'll stand there and think of Steven, of their conversation, and wonder when they'll have the chance to see each other again.

He's beginning to think up excuses to use one of the stones, just so he has an excuse to send Steven a letter and start up another conversation, but he's beaten to it. Steven sends him a letter, with a ticket attached. The letter is brief, telling Green about new stones that have been discovered, that Steven hasn't even had the chance to study yet, and inviting him along to take a look at them himself.

With a grin, Green folds the letter and puts it into his pocket. He's already looking forward to it.
