Hello!!

I have loved hunterxhunter for about fifteen years now and am always excited when someone mentions it. I was super pumped when the new anime was announced ("new" I say about something that began ~seven years ago, haha), especially since there was a delightful resurgence of the fandom. It was great being able to chat with more people and write a little fic, because when I was first in the fandom as a teenager I did nooooot write.

I'm also excited you mentioned the Phantom Troupe because my friend circle in ~2014 hxh fandom was super into them and I still have such a fondness for the troupe. I love Pakunoda! And Shalnark!! And everyone tbh. I wrote Machi/Pakunoda and Shalnark/Uvogin fic but I'm so rusty now, so instead of fic I come bearing a small heap of pixiv offerings.


-[here] A log with really lovely ink sketches of a lot of the Phantom Troupe members in blue and black; the second to last image is Chrollo/Kurapika so if that isn't to your taste maybe tab out at 10 of 12.

-[here] This log has a lot of Feitan and Chrollo; I'm really fond of the cover image because it's such a nice illustration of Shalnark and Pakunoda and Uvogin.

-[here] This artist has such a cute style; the log starts with a handful of pictures of Biscuit and it has a lot of Zoldyck family art but there's also some nice Phantom Troupe stuff. Their Chrollo in image 13 is unfairly handsome and image 9 with Pakunoda is Rude. Also the Alluka that's image 16 is so pretty??

-[here] This log is suuuuuper long, it's like 122 images with art spanning pretty much the entirety of the cast. Lots of Chrollo, lots of Phantom Troupe, and very little of it is overtly shippy so if there are any ships you really don't like you shouldn't run into them (there are a couple Meruem/Komugi though). There is some Suggestive Hisoka, fair warning, but I mean... Suggestive Hisoka is always somewhere in hxh, isn't he. (The Chrollos with gloves in image 12 and Machi with gloves in 13 are so good. 49 is another Phantom Troupe one I loved, there's some crossover stuff with Yu Yu Hakusho, and iirc the artist has a couple other logs with even more of their twitter stuff.)


Also I sure did scroll through so many anatomically dubious NSFW illustrations of the Phantom Troupe girls during my pixiv crawl, would not recommend. I would've been safer looking for leopika, huh. But yeah!! Both "found family" and "mourning a character death" sure are big Phantom Troupe tropes. Tell me who your fave is! Talk to me about hunterxhunter!!

Hi !

First thank you for sharing the good art ! I watched hxh pretty recently, october of last year something like that and completely fell in love with the characters. It felt so refreshing compared to most shonen i've seen (the fact that they actually have different sets of clothes was wow haha) and that power system dsfkj i can't get over how well it's built.

As for my faves, Leorio and Kurapika would be safe picks. If we put them aside, i really liked most of the support cast (special mention for Biscuit, and Morau/Nov/Knucle/Shoot) and vilains. Neferpitou and Pakunoda made a big impression on me, on how multidimentionnal they are. Yeah they're obviously on the "vilain" side but they have people they care about too, just like anyone else.

That reminds me that i should def draw more phantom troupe haha

summary: arakita is a rock. (no, mineral, toudou says.)

hematite is more brittle than he'd expected. "this hurts!" he scowls, but he knows better than to move. he's more alloy than rock now, although toudou would correct him with a smirk on his blue mouth. it's useful, especially when manami drops something in a crevice that goes from the surface of the earth to fuck-all-knows-where; magnetic limbs tend to find things easily.

he does wish benitoite was rarer than it seems to be. manami is on his best days not even there, and when he chooses to be present at all he seems to insist on running underfoot. toudou's nearly broken his feet off just tripping over him—but sapphire doesn't crack easily, and arakita also remembers sweeping into an improvised dustpan shards of toudou's hair to glue back together. that day was particularly shitty; toudou had, despite the relative loss of his extant body mass, not quieted down.

"i have shit to do," he says, and toudou ignores him cheerfully in favor of powdering down his arms. they'd learned their lesson after fuku-chan had refracted too much light inside his chest—the resulting trail of fire he'd left in his wake was persuasive enough, but he'd had the grace to look slightly apologetic about it all. (it was a general approximation, since chrysoberyl has only so many formations—fuku-chan had a face made of rock, although they all did, but his was particularly unmoving.)

"and don't do it again!" toudou wags a finger in arakita's face and he seriously considers biting it off, but hematite teeth are definitely—and unfortunately—softer than corundum. arakita instead settles on flipping him the bird, lifting his newly reattached arm up to do it.
